Paws to Remember:
Support Groups for Grieving Humans

If you are reading this – I am so sorry for your loss.

Losing a pet can be deeply painful, often feeling like losing a best friend or even a family member. Pets give a unique kind of unconditional love—always there after a hard day, offering comfort without judgment, and bringing joy with even the smallest moments. For many, a pet often provides a safe, steady presence in a world where it’s common to feel misunderstood or overwhelmed. When a pet passes, it can feel like there’s suddenly an empty space where that comfort used to be. Grieving this loss isn’t just about saying goodbye; it’s about honoring a bond that was a meaningful part of your life. Allowing you to openly feel and express that grief gives you the chance to grow emotionally and learn that it’s okay to cherish what was and to find ways to heal.

I know from both professional and personal experience just how difficult and unique grieving the loss of a pet can be. I created this group because of the variety of emotions and challenges that can arise from this unique experience. Pets are our greatest gift and this group is here for you or your teen to feel less alone during this difficult time.

I know how much you miss your pal. I know because I miss her too.
